probably just like around here -- In small towns, the school often serves as the center of the community as well as the school. Besides the memory and this history... but it is often not economically feasible to keep them going .

They are trying to close a school here, to save money and most people want it to remain open. Then they will complain about their school taxes.

We endured the closing of one of our high schools, but luckily that school is now a middle school. Loss of population in our town has caused this plus elementary schools closing.
